وعند وصولنا خرج إلينا القاضي وشيخ الإسلام والتجار ومعهم الأعلام والطبول والأبواق والأنفار وأهل الطرب وأتوا بالخيل، فركبنا ومشوا بين أيدينا لم يركب معنا غير القاضي والشيخ وخرج أمير البلد وخدامه [ص. ٤٦٠]
English translation
When we arrived the qāḍī, the shaikh of Islam and the merchants came to meet us with flags, drums [ṭubūl], coiled trumpets [abwāq] and straight trumpets [anfār] and musicians [ahl al-ṭarab]. They brought us horses which we mounted. Except for the qāḍī and the shaikh they walked in front of us and did not ride with us. The amīr of the town and his attendants came out to meet us

Observations on the events description
The three musical instruments mentioned seem to form a sort of standard sequence used by the writer. The identification of "Qanjanfū" with the city of Fozhou is debated, as it is the historical reliability of the Chinese section of Ibn Baṭṭūṭa's travels.
