Text on source
English translation
On one day during this period the Sultan's son died, but they observed no ceremonies other than the lamentations [bukāʾ al-raḥma] of [entreaty for] the divine mercy, exactly as is done by the people of Egypt and Syria, and in contrast to what we have described above about the conduct of the Lūrs when their sultan's son died. After he was buried the sultan and the students of religion continued for three days to go out to his grave after the dawn prayers.

Observations on the events description
The name "bukāʾ al-raḥma", lit. "Cry of Mercy", refers to a prophetic tradition according to which Muḥammad forbade ostentatious expressions of mourning typical of previous times, but allowed to cry for asking mercy for the dead (see Niyāḥa, EI-2).
