فرمت عليهم البنادق وبأياديهم أتراس متسعة تستر جميع أبدانهم فهم يظنون أنها تدفع عنهم رمي البندق فوقعت رمية في أحدهم فخرقت ترسه وأصابته في شقه الأيسر حتى خرقته فألقته على جانبه وأثرت فيه تأثيرا هايلا أرهبهم وأرعبهم
English translation
Then the muskets (banādiḳ) were fired at them. In their hands were large shields which protected their whole body. They thought that these would protect them against the musket (banādiḳ) shots, but a shot hit one of them, pierced his shield, hit him in the left side and pierced him (kharaḳathu). It threw him on his side and left a terrible mark on him which frightened and terrified them.
