Title
The noise of pepper on the tray (original source)
Short description
Giovanni Battista Belzoni describes a dinner and event where the noise of peppercorns dropped on the metal tray of roasted mutton.
Text on source
The dinner was brought in a large tray. It consisted, as usual, of very poor rice soup, which, after eating three spoonsful, was taken away, and a dish of roast mutton brought forward. No sooner had we begun to eat of that, than a man came in with his hand full of large green peppercorns, and let them fall on the tray, which, being of metal, sounded like a drum-head.
