Assistetti ad una conversazione a Ragusi, in cui si cantarono canzonette illiriche al suono della chitarra, e veramente mi parve che questa lingua si presti alla musica nè più nè meno quanto la nostra, essendo assai dolce e melodiosa. Rapporto ai metri essi sono imitati dalle canzonette italiane. In questa conversazione allegra furono cantate anche canzoni in italiano, greco, turco ed arabo.
