Un Cascef fu ferito nella schiena da un colpo di giavellotto, un tamburo ed undici soldati furono uccisi, ed i poveri villani di Egitto, non avvezzi a simili danze, si trovarono molto imbrogliati. Poco pratici di maneggiare il fucile in guerra viva, parecchi si ferirono gli uni con gli altri. Il giorno seguente tutta la truppa ritornò in Sennaar.
